Raleigh smartgrid company enters cloud business

Power Analytics Corp., a San Diego-based software company which has a smartgrid center in Raleigh and was recently acquired by Raleigh’s Causam Energy, is rolling out a new cloud-based service.

It’s called the DesignBase Xi, and allows users to design engineering projects for facilities such as manufacturing plants and airports, among others.

“This opportunity is significant because it provides members with a fresh distribution channel to reach additional customers and increase revenue, and I’m looking forward to seeing our partners dramatically scale their success through our program,” says Joe Forbes, Jr., chief executive officer of Causam Energy and Power Analytics.

The company is offering open enrollment through the first quarter of 2015, and subscriptions start at $249 per month.

Power Analytics has half of its 30- employees in Raleigh. Causam Energy has eight employees. In July, Causam COO David Bass said the company aimed to double its revenue with the acquisition of Power Analytics. The company already has raised $3 million from investors.
